TWO TRIPS COMING UP
TRIP # 1 Las Vegas Bound
Jan. 25 thru Jan. 29, 2012 (Christmas Gift from Sher, Joe, David, Pat & Cher.)
Going to Las Vegas with Daughter & Son-in-law Sherry & Joe Arena, Grandson Joe Pat Arena & His Fiancee Nicole Simmons. My Firstborn Son Pat & his wife Cher are driving from Steamboat Springs, CO and will meet us at the MGM in Vegas. Needless to say I am very excited about being with him & Cher for it has been two years since I saw them. Plus we love going to Las Vegas. The sights & sounds are awesome and the food is delicious.
TRIP # 2 USA vs New Zealand
Feb. 9 thru Feb. 11, 2012 (Christmas Gift from Tiffany, Tara, Joe Pat & Nicole.)
Going to see my favorite Sport by my favorite Team USA Womans' Soccer with two of my favorite people (Tiff & Tara). USA is playing New Zealand and I'm gonna be right there mid field wearing my #20 Abby Wambach Shirt & cheering her and the USA Womans' Team to the winners circle. (Abby is special to me because she was raised in the same area of USA as I was. Rochester, NY)
As terrific as the opportunity to see this game is; spending prime time with my Grand Daughters Tiffany & Tara is pure pleasure. I have followed Tiffany (wearing #10) playing Soccer from Jr. High through College. She won an Athletic Scholarship to Sam Houston State University and played until she was injured and forced to the sidelines due to 3 concussions. She finished college and got her degree in Business & Finance. Soccer is still her favorite sport and she plays on weekends on a unisex team right here in Beaumont and guess who never misses one of her games.
So with Tiffany driving Tara's new Nissan Armada, we will leave Fri. the 9th. and spend the night at the Lake House in Jasper and head out for Dallas early Sat. morn and check into our hotel and head for the Game. After we are announced the winner we'll go where the action is and celebrate. OK there is a slim chance the other guys will win BUT we will join the celebration anyway.

CATCHING UP
It has been way to long since I posted anything other than comments on my extended family members blogs. Since my third attempt at retirement two 1/2 years ago I have managed to stay busy. Just keeping up with family doings, which, incidently, is my #1 priority, is almost more than I can keep up with.
Pat & Cher are doing fine in Steamboat Springs, CO where he is the Head of Engineering & Cher is Purchasing Manager & Head of Housekeeping at the Sheraton Hotel. They spend most vacation-time in Hawaii where her mom lives and most of Pat's off time is spent on the golf course. Cher has taken up golf also. Sher & Joe have built a house at Rayburn Lake in Jasper, TX. Their home in Beaumont is up for sale & the Lake House will be their retirement home. Joe & his son Joey (my Grandson) are still busy building custom homes and most of them are at the Beach. Joey and his girl friend, Nicole, became engaged this past year and the wedding will be in April 2012. He built a home in Nederland TX and they will reside there. Tiffany & Tara bought a home in Beaumont over two & 1/2 years ago. Tara is a Jr. Highschool Physical Ed Teacher & Coach and Tiffany works at Mobil Refinery.
I lost my kid brother Richard F. O'Hare on Dec. 26, 2010 in Webster, NY. Due to a blizzard on the East Coast I was unable to get there for the funeral service & Mass on Dec. 30, 2010. His internment had to be put off for four months due to the frozen ground and lack of equipment at the gravesite on the church grounds. So David took me there in April for that service. Kathylyn & Ed met us there & got aquainted with Richards family and my "otha brotha" Thomas Patrick. His wife of
Richard was diagnosed with Liver Cancer in the summer of 2009. He did not tell me until Nov. of 2010 & I immediatly went up there & spent some time with him & his family. He and Nicky celebrated their 54th anniversary in July 2010 & had two sons and four grandchildren.
My older brother Tom O'Hare lives in St. Louis, MO with his wife of 45 years, Vita. Tom had some heart problems this year while visiting his youngest son in CA which required surgery to implant a Pacemaker. He is doing much better and can return to normal activities in Jan. 2012. He & Vita have two sons and 2 grandsons. One is Mike O'Hare who lives in NYC with wife Simone and is a Wall Street Broker. The younger one is Mark O'Hare and is a cartoonest. Spongebob Square Pants is one of the more well known he works on and he won an Emmy last year for his work. He & his wife, Julie have two sons---Liam & Tristan and they live in Lake Forest, CA.

HI-LITES
It has been so long since I posted anything here that probably you have all given up and won't even read it. I never miss any of y'alls postings and keeping up with all of you via "BLOG-CITY" and working 4-8's is almost more than I can handle.
SHER & JOE:
Have been building a four bedroom 3 1/2 bath home on Lake Rayburn near Jasper, TX . Should be completely finished before Christmas. This will be their retirement home. They have over 2 acres fronting on the lake. They put a 2 bedroom, 2 bath modular on the acreage last summer and have spent nearly every weekend up there. In fact Sher only comes to Beaumont Tues. Nites and goes back Thurs. Morns. It is about 1 1/2 hour drive directly north of Beaumont on Hwy. 96. I try to get up there at least one weekend a month and Sher & I run the trails on our 4-wheelers. I love it....... They are keeping the modular as a Guest House after they move into the new home. Joe built a huge screened porch across the front of the modular. Good Lord willing and the creek don't rise, I will retire permanently the end of January and move to the lake and take up residence in the modular. I am going to train someone to take my place here to keep the office work done and tutn alot of my work over to our CA
